Cub Scouts Automotive Safety Patch

The Event:
Safe Kids Midlands and Herndon Chevrolet have teamed up to teach Cub Scouts and their parents and caregivers about safety in and around vehicles. These hands-on educational activities are designed to educate families with older children- ages 7-10 –about being safe inside and outside of moving and parked vehicles. After the Scouts successfully complete all the educational stations, they are presented with their Automotive Safety Patch. Each Scout will get a safety belt fit test, learn about preventing trunk entrapment, learn to watch out for vehicles backing up, and learn how to use OnStar and more exciting safety issues.

The Event:
We will be teaching anyone who would like to learn how to properly install their car seat. We will go over the basics and have time for questions. At the end of the class you will put your seat in and we will inspect it for you! Great class for parents-to-be and grandparents! Children do not need to be present. Please bring your car seat if you have one. The class is free, but you must call 296-CARE to register.
